photosafari

As a freshman in college I befriended a lovely gal named Kathy, who we quickly donned Schmathy, and after wooing her with drawings of my favorite English professor - we became fast friends. We drank jugs of wine, she could get me to tell my most embarrassing stories to the most random groups of people, we shared a love a cats and Picasso, and she is who introduced me to the term "photosafari". A photosafari is when friends armed with cameras wonder around with no destination with the soul purpose of capturing some fun and random photographs that usually sum up an afternoon. There's nothing better than getting out of a class to a text saying "Photosafari?".

These shorts for some reason are very safari-esque to me. I'm not sure if it's the olive khaki or the modest length, but something about them screams SAFARI. If only dear Schmath were here for us to wonder around cameras in tow in this gorgeous early summer evening light.

SCHMATH, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, I MISS YOU AND PHOTOSAFARI??
