Modern Vintage Chicago GIVEAWAY

Good morning friends,

I'm excited to announce that I'm hosting my first giveaway over here on Edie and Andy! I've teamed up with the folks over at Randolph Street Market to give one lucky reader two tickets to this coming weekend's installment of Modern Vintage Chicago over at the Plumbers Hall on Washington. I've had the pleasure to attend both the indoor and outdoor version of this monthly sale, and it's honestly one of my favorite things to do in Chicago. Grab a friend, a cup of coffee, and come peruse the wares - everything from costume jewelry, vintage appliances, modern furniture, and amazing deals on various styles of clothing.

I'm going to be there Sunday afternoon with my camera in hand and my eyes peeled for some knick knacks for my apartment. Come on down to say hi.
To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment with your name, email address, and a description of something you'd like to find at a flea market/thrift store/vintage bazaar! I know I am always looking for a steal on Bakelite jewelry, vintage kitchen goods, leather loafers, and taxidermied animals. I will announce the winner on Friday afternoon. GOOD LUCK!

  1. Ooh, how exciting! It makes me want to jump on a plane...

  2. Don't tempt me!

I'm enjoying our interactions as well. While a name seems like a simple thing, for someone like me, it gets complicated. My concern is for the comfort of others so whatever someone wants to call me is fine.

IRL, most people call me Ralph; online, most of my friends call me Ally (short for Allison). I answer to both.

  3. Oh, and since we're introducing ourselves, let me mention two facts where our lives might overlap.

First, I loved and lived with a painter for twenty years (Maura). At an early age, Maura dedicated her life to art and she made good on that for four decades. She was in a gallery in NYC and had a few one-woman shows; now she lives in Wales and shows in Dublin. I still love and support her financially even though we live apart. Living with Maura, I was exposed to art and artists and am quite familiar with both.

Second, I visited Chicago last year for a wedding and caught a Cubs game. It's a nice city.

  4. I hope I win...I am looking for (another) vintage Swatch!
PS: where is your new apartment?!?!

  5. ah, this looks awesome. Wish I was in Chicago for it!

  6. Cool! I'm looking for awesome things for our new apartment!

  7. I am in dire need to furnish my apt...I have lived in it for the past 4 months and it looks like I just moved in. I hope I win!!!
